The Celeron 266 and 300 are the cheapest Intel CPUs I ever bought. The reason is because I have read reviews on how overclockable they are.

Quite surprisingly, some people managed to overclocked their CPUs to 448Mhz using a Celeron 266 but some others only managed to 374Mhz on a Celeron 300 !! It seems weird though. They are various reasons behind all this and lets take a look :

The S-specs (Make) of the CPU e.g. SL2YN, SL2SY
Motherboard type. Abit, Asus, Chaintech.
RAM used. PC-100, PC-66, CAS 2, CAS 3.

S-Specs

Celeron 266
448 Mhz - SL2QG
412 Mhz - SL2YN, SL2SY, SL2TR
Celeron 300
450 Mhz - SL2YP, SL2Z7, SL2Y2
464 Mhz - SL2Y2

All speeds shown are the maximum speeds achieved by most overclockers.

The speeds of 448 and 464 (~463.5) are achieved using 4 x 112 Mhz and 4.5 x 103 Mhz respectively. Read the other successful overclocking stories of Celeron 266 and Celeron 300 owners by clicking the links on the left. Do participate in the fourms for the latest successful overclocking stories.
